Civil War Technology Fair

On Saturday, June 30, 2018 the Drum Barracks is hosting a FREE Civil War Technology Fair from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.

This FREE event will feature special exhibitions and demonstrations on Civil War technology. With hands-on activities and lectures, this event will appeal to visitors of all ages.

 LECTURE SCHEDULE:

11 am - Railroads of the Civil War: Technology that Changed the Conduct of Warfare.  Presented by Jay Kelly, President, Southern California Garden Railway Society. 

 

12 pm - Civil War High Tech: The Ironclads.  Presented by Steven Lund, Co-author, Modeling Civil War Ironclad Ships.

 

1 pm - Wet-Plate Photography.  Presented by Bailey-Denton Photography, Southern California's premier historical photography studio dedicated to the preservation of wet-plate photography.

 

 

Civil War Technology Fair Flyer

* The Blueprint to History is a children's activity. The Blueprint features a page for every participating booth. Children are invited to then visit as many locations as possible to have their map stamped. Completed maps can be taken to the Gift Shop for a prize, while supplies last.
